What is Qi-Gong? – Qi-Gong (pronounced "chee-gung," alternatively spelled chee kung, chi kung, chi gung, or qigong,) is translated from the Chinese to mean "energy cultivation" or "working with life energy." Qi-Gong is an ancient Chinese system of postures, exercises, and breathing techniques, aimed towards enhancing the body's life energy or qi. According to traditional Chinese philosophy, qi is the fundamental life energy responsible for health and vitality.
The gentle exercises of Qi-Gong reflect water as it flows effortlessly in nature. Qi-Gong balances acupuncture energetic pathways, soothing the central nervous system, developing a sense of going with the flow rather than against it. Unlike some complex yoga routines which leave you wondering how long you have to hold a pose, Qi-Gong's relaxed, fluid movements can be learned very quickly and are perfect for people of all ages and fitness levels. Combined with simple breathing techniques, Qi-Gong is uniquely suited to relieve stress and awaken the body's natural healing abilities. |

Resistance training should not be confused with weightlifting, power lifting or bodybuilding. Resistance training can be performed by simply using one's own body as a weight, resistance bands, exercise machines, water resistance (swimming) or any other object that causes the muscles to contract. |
